The Systembase BASSO-1010UC USB to serial converter enables easy and fast installation of serial communications ports using a USB bus. Equipped with USB 2.0, it supports serial communication speed up to 921.6Kbps and ±15kV surge protection providing compatibility and reliability. An LED showing serial communication status provides a quick visual status in addition to debugging purposes. The BASSO-1010UC supports the serial communications RS-422/RS-485 interface and is designed for use in R&D, laboratory, building and factory automation, and other industrial, laboratory and research applications.

Latching USB Cable
The BASSO-1010UC's Latching USB Cable has latches on the USB connector to prevent accidental detachment. It is compatible with existing USB 2.0 connectors.
Auto Toggling
BASSO-1010UC has a built-in hardware feature that performs automatic toggling to prevent devices from sending data simultaneously causing a crash. This function prevents the RS-422 from forming a multi-drop network or crashing between output signals on the RS-485 network. This function is provided through the hardware, therefore setting the interface mode with a switch enables auto-toggling for each interface.
Slew-Rate Limit Control
The BASSO-1010UC has a slew rate limiting function that inhibits electromagnetic emissions when communicating in RS-422/RS-485 interface. When this function is activated, the maximum communication speed is limited to 250Kbps. However, this function prevents equipment from malfunctioning in electromagnetic-sensitive environments such as hospitals and laboratories.
